Field Day Activities
The art room is set up and used exclusively for art projects by the primary and intermediate grades. Dunbar provides "Art at Lunch" to our students a few days a week. Students may go to our sunlit artroom where our wonderful teacher leads activities with clay, paints, and other mediums.
This beautiful outdoor stage built under the oaks is used for Dunbar's 5th grade melodrama, fifth grade graduation and various other outdoor education activites.
Dunbar has a large blacktop for the primary and intermediate grades which also includes an extensive play structure next to the basketball and volleyball courts. Next to this is the large play field complete with a baseball diamond and soccer nets all surrounded by a grove of oak trees.
The garden is located on the beautiful Dunbar campus & is integrated into our core curriculum through activities & programs at every grade level.
Our school library maintains a comprehensive collection of books and reference materials. The library is staffed by district library media specialist, Rosanne Goertzen. Volunteers are welcome and encouraged. You and your child are invited to visit the library often! Please read your Family Bulletin for information about our Library Birthday Party!
All Dunbar students use our library regularly. Classes visit each week to select and exchange books. Parents are encouraged to use our library and are invited to become volunteers.
All basic texts, workbooks, and materials are loaned for student use throughout the year. Students are expected to take care of school materials. You will be required to pay for lost or damaged materials or equipment. Our office staff handles the replacement of textbooks.
Dunbar has a new 30-station mini-mac state-of-the-art computer lab. The lab is used by all students to enhance the core curriculum. We have an individualized computer learning program (remedial to accelerated for K - 6) from Dreambox Learning, Accelerated Reader, Lexis Reading and STAR Enterprise.
