I've taught at Adele Harrison and Altimira Middle Schools, and this is my second year at wonderful Dunbar! I grew up in Sonoma County, earned my college degrees at CSU Sacramento, then returned for my teaching credential at Sonoma State. I've lived in France and enjoy sharing my French experiences and knowledge. I'm married and have two children. I love art and science, and enjoy teaching about the patterns of mathematics. In class, we learn about cooperation, active listening, doing our best, and proper behavior. We have fun with art and science projects, too. » read more...

Since we are a 4/5 class this year, we are learning about the history of California and the history of America. We are learning the scientific method of observation, and creating projects for our Science Fair. We have participated in a 6 week project with the Ecology Center, and loved going out to the Viansa Wetlands. We visited the fabulous Cline Mission Museum, and we are digging clay and making real adobe bricks for our mission project. Currently, we are working with a visiting artist making Eco-chic projects, and are looking forward to visiting the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art. The 4th graders enjoyed their overnight outdoor ed trip to the Balclutha sailing ship in San Francisco; however, the 5th graders had their Sailing Adventure curtailed by the tsunami in February. Additionally, every day we are improving our math skills with manipulatives and word problems. Currently we are all studying geometry! Of course, we study English language arts every day, also. We read short stories, have book club groups, and write book reports every month. The 5th graders are working on their Melodrama which will be performed soon, and the 5th graders have other field trips upcoming as well. » read more...
